MyBucks has extended its retail products to Civil Servants who were only accessing the bank’s lending products under the banks Microfinance division.

Speaking about the new development, MyBucks’ Chief Commercial Officer Bernard Mkandawire said “In line with our strategic intent to make a positive social impact in Malawi, for a long time MyBucks has been a key player in offering Civil Servants loans without any collateral via our Microfinance division. We believe that through these loans we have uplifted and assisted many to realize their financial goals and aspirations irrespective of whether they bank with us or not. We now no longer want Civil Servants to watch our seamless and enjoyable digital banking experiences and services from the side-lines hence we have decided it is time that they get looped in and access all our great financial products”.

“Further to this as one of the leaders who provide financial services to Civil Servants, we decided to deepen our activities at the retail end of the business by offering Civil Servants a one stop shop when it comes to accessing financial services”, said Mkandawire.

All along, the bank under its Microfinance Division used to offer loans to its customers irrespective of one being an account holder, but this made the customers move from different institutions and experienced challenges to access their approved loans with the bank.

Mkandawire added that “Civil Servants who have been accessing lending products with us from the beginning will now be required to open a bank account through a simplified process, and proceed to fill up loan application forms. Under this new horizon, customers will be able to access mobile banking services like *632# FlexMobile and internet banking service on Flex Online where without difficulty. Through these platforms, customers are able to Send Money to Airtel Money & Mpamba wallets, to other banks accounts, Pay MRA taxes and utility bills, Buy airtime and view balances and statements in addition to many more exciting features.

The bank appraised itself on the economic impact it has made towards most of its customers who are in the civil service through its fast loans. He said “Our customers who access Civil Servants loans can tell you so many positive stories on the impact that we have made in their lives and how they have not remained the same and we will continue to deliver towards making a positive social-economic impact on them and all customers in different sectors”.
