MyBucks Banking Corporation invited its Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that are customers with the bank to a business breakfast meeting. The bank’s CEO, Zandile Shaba during the meeting highlighted that for a country to develop, there should be support towards small businesses and also pointed out how MyBucks Banking Corporation has already positioned itself on that path. She also promised unwavering support to the sector.

Shaba advised emerging SMEs to form groups or cooperatives in order for them to easily access loans from the bank in the absence of collateral as a solution to lack of collateral. She went further to point out Dzaleka refugee camp as one area where the bank is able to lend out to refugees, some of who organise themselves in groups, to get such loans to boost their working capital.

Another key note speaker at the meeting was guest speaker, Professor David Kamchacha, Vice Chancellor of Pentecostal Life University (PLUS). He advised SMEs to take to honesty, business integrity and discipline in order to succeed in business.

He alluded poor business management and spending of borrowed money as contributors to business failures.
