MyBucks Banking Corporation has partnered Northern Region Water board (NRWB), to simplify payment of water bills for customers in the region via MyBucks’ mobile banking platform.

The new partnership will enable NRWB clients to pay for their water bills using the bank’s USSD code *632# known as Flex Mobile.

The Chief Commercial Officer for MyBucks, Bernard Mkandawire said “Our Purpose as MyBucks is focussed on making people’s lives better through convenient and simplified banking using technology and partnerships. We believe that this partnership will provide a simple, smart, safe and convenient way for our customers to pay their utility bills and sets us on the right path towards attaining our aspiration of becoming the best digital bank in Malawi.

In this Covid era this also gives our customers a safer alternate way to pay their bills via *632# FlexMobile whenever, wherever.”

He added that “the payment transactions will be free of charge and customers with prepaid meters will simply be following the steps on the mobile platform and a system generated token will be sent to their phone. The bank will then be remitting the bills to NRWB on the customers’ behalf.

On their part, Northern Region Water Board expressed happiness with the partnership. NRWB's Public Relations Manager Edward Nyirenda stated, “the Covid 19 pandemic has redefined the way we do our business. As a water service provider, we are looking at more platforms in which our customers can transact digitally. This is one of them.”
